Her Royal Highness Princess Sakhizwe has emerged as a passionate tourism and nature enthusiast after officially launching the 3rd Edition of the Khabane Cave Walk 2026, while also being unveiled as the official brand ambassador for the initiative.
The launch, held at King Sobhuza II Park in Lobamba on Wednesday morning, brought together tourism stakeholders, conservation advocates and members of the media ahead of the highly anticipated annual walk scheduled for 28 June 2026 at Mlawula Nature Reserve.

Speaking during the launch, HRH Princess Sakhizwe encouraged emaSwati to rally behind the initiative, stressing that the Khabane Cave Walk was more than just a recreational outdoor activity. She highlighted that the event presents an opportunity for citizens to reconnect with Eswatini’s rich cultural heritage while appreciating the country’s natural beauty and ecological treasures.
The Princess reportedly urged emaSwati to attend the walk in large numbers, emphasising that exploring the historic Khabane Cave and surrounding nature trails would strengthen appreciation for the Kingdom’s heritage, conservation efforts and tourism potential.
In a bold and patriotic call, HRH Princess Sakhizwe stated that emaSwati should regard participation in the Khabane Cave Walk as a “patriotic investment” towards preserving and promoting the country’s identity, culture and environmental assets for future generations. The Khabane Cave Walk is facilitated by the Eswatini National Trust Commission (ENTC) in partnership with the Rotary Club of Matsapha. Organisers highlighted that the initiative continues to grow as one of the country’s unique eco-tourism and heritage experiences, blending wellness, adventure, culture and environmental appreciation.

Also present during the launch were the Minister of Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Jane Mkhonta-Simelane, as well as ENTC Chief Executive Officer Thailand Methula, who both expressed support for initiatives that promote domestic tourism, conservation and active lifestyles.
This year’s edition will feature multiple trail options including 5km, 12km and 21km walks, alongside cultural games, aerobics and family-friendly activities.
